BACK TO STORIES
Of course I could write a million words about the injustices and everything else that has ties in politics. We could also debate for hours which political system is the best to base a country and society on. But why would we? There are millions of better things to say and do, things that politics certainly is no part of.
The main reason I don’t delve into political issues (at least not anymore) is that politics changes you. Seeing unjust and corrupt systems makes you realise just how bad the situation is and over time it can get really depressing.
Whenever I look around on social the first thing I see is a post from a news website and the next thing my eyes notice is the pointless arguing in the comments. Not the type where you state your opinion and back it up with facts or statistics or whatever, but the type where everyone is just shouting over everyone else and insulting them. That’s not how gentlemen talk but sadly it seems that this type of discourse cannot be avoided. This is why I generally keep my opinions to myself.
As far as I can see, politics and religion are those sort of topics that are just more personal to people. And believe me, I have no shortage of opinions and they have gotten me in trouble in the past because I like to say what’s on my mind and have arguments to back them. But some people get angry and I have the time nor the patience to deal with it. That’s too bad since I enjoy talking about subjects other than sports and cars. A Gentleman needs to get his dose of intelligent conversation as that is the stuff that excites his mind. Well, that’s the short reason why nothing political appears in our book.
Until next time, RP.
